Nautilus Model Kit

Our adaptation of Jules Verne's Nautilus Submarine from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.

The model kit presented to you has been in development for over 2 1/2 years and has amassed nearly 1100 hours of drawing and development time.

Working with Intricate Design Solutions and inspired by the iconic shape and layout of the 1954 Disney film adaptation of Verne's novel  that was designed by Harper Goff.

Wherever possible we've tried to include as much detail of Goff's original plans where we could. However there are several discrepancies within the film that leave a lot open to interpretation and some where certain things are physically impossible to make fit. To that end artistic licence has been employed.

For the more experienced modeller only. Approx 1100mm long

The kit is a modular build comprising of five main parts. The Forward section has Nemo's and the guests cabins. Wheel house and Map (Chart) Room. Mid Section houses The Salon and Below that the Dive chamber and changing room. Aft or Rear Section has the Galley, Pump Room and Power Plant. Outer Section is the outer frame work that gives the ship it's iconic shape.

As well as the above you will also find some resin detailing parts for the Raker Teeth, Wheel House, Hatches, Dive Chamber and window surrounds and a few other pieces as well. There's also a vacuum formed set of windows and some walls and floors that are cut from perspex so that some of the interiors are also visible.

Also included is enough 0.5mm styrene sheet to fully skin the model if you so desire or to add the odd panel here or there as we originally intended for the kit to make it look as if it's on Vulcania being built in dry dock.

The instructions are in PDF format and will be emailed to you on dispatch of your kit.

Whilst the instructions are comprehensive the model isn't for the faint hearted and will require some modelling skill and experience.

Remember you are dealing with man made products that shrink, swell and react to humidity, heat and cold so some fitting may be required.

If during the build process you think something may be better if done a different way or you think we've missed a beat somewhere we'd be happy to hear from you. Drop us a line to and put Nautilus in the subject line.
